Dec 2020 Beary Comforting Paper Pumpkin

The December 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit is themed Beary Comforting.  I made one set of the cards as laid out in the instructions.  For the rest of the materials, I decided to make a variety of different cards and a scrapbook layout.

A video of this Paper Pumpkin kit and these designs is below.  Enjoy!

Pleated Fun Fold Card

Pleated Cards have so many possibilities to showcase some great designer series paper.  These cards are not hard to make.  You can have the card in portrait or in landscape.  Adjust the sentiment and you can create a card for any occasion.

A video tutorial on how to make this card is here.

Enjoy and I would love to see photos of your creations using this technique.

Happy Stamping!

  • Fine Art Ribbon
  • Pear Pizzazz ink

Balloon Birthday Card

I was wanting to try making my own background paper using a stencil.  I punched out a couple balloons then used that as a stencil.  I wanted it to look like a bunch of balloons in the background.  The cut outs were used as masking when sponging a different colour.

Materials used include:
  • Well Written dies
  • Opal rounds (Jan-June 2021 occasions catalogue)
  • Mango Melody cardstock
  • Basic White cardstock
  • Basic Black cardstock
  • Poppy Parade ink
  • Granny Apple Green ink
  • Daffodil Delight ink
  • Melon Mambo ink
  • Mango Melody ink
  • Pacific Point ink

Here is a video on how to make this background.

Happy stamping!

Sending Hearts Jan 2021 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to actually do something with the Paper Pumpkin Kits as soon as I could rather than letting them stack up for later use.  I wanted to do something different as I did not have any need for 8 Valentine Cards.  So, I sat at my crafting table and played with the kit to see what I could come up with.

These first two cards were made following the instructions in the kit.  Then this is what I created on my own.

I also love to scrapbook so came up with a layout that I would be able to put a family photo in as well as individual photos of my two girls.

I am so please on how these projects turned out.  And I used most of the kit supplies, leaving a little bit left over for future projects.

I would love to see some of your alternative projects for the kits.  If you would like to subscribe to the Paper Pumpkin kits, there is a link to the top right of the page.

Sailing Home Card with Brayer

I was wanting to do a more masculine card today as I sometimes find those a little challenging to make.  I didn't have any background paper that I wanted to use with the Sailing Home stamp set, so I decided to use the Brayer sponge and make my own.  I wasn't really sure what I was going to do.  Once I started, it just came together.  Then I thought - Why not make it into a flag?  Here is the final design.

I was really pleased how this turned out.

Materials used include:
  • Sailing Home Stamp Set
  • Smooth Sailing Dies
  • Balmy Blue ink
  • Pacific Point ink
  • Night of Navy ink
  • Memento Black ink
  • Well Suited twine - Night of Navy
  • Basic White cardstock
  • Pacific Point cardstock
  • Night of Navy cardstock
  • Dimensionals

Shadow Box Fun Fold Card

This past weekend, we participated in a regional demonstrator meeting and had a couple Create With Me sessions.  One of the sessions was on how to make this cute Shadow Box Fun Fold Card.  I used the Darling Donkeys stamp set that is available in the Saleabration catalogue right now for the first card.  So adorable!

When I was looking at doing a tutorial on how to do this card, I decided to use a different stamp set and theme.  I chose to use the Painted Poppies stamp set.  This is how it turned out.

  • Painted Poppies stamp set
  • Heal Your Heart stamp set (from Sale-A-Bration)
  • Layering Circles dies
  • Oh So Ombre DSP paper (from Sale-A-Bration)
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock
  • Basic White cardstock
  • Memento ink
  • Poppy Parade Ink
  • Real Red Ink
  • Old Olive Ink
  • Poppy Parade Stampin Blends

A video tutorial on how to make this card is posted here.  I hope you enjoy making this as much as I did.

Swing Fold Card

Yesterday, we had a regional demonstrator meeting and I had been asked to do a Create With Me session.  I chose to do this fun fold card.  I did a demonstration of a Valentine's Day card to the group.  When recording the video, I decided to use a different theme - the Sand & Sea Suite in the new mini catalogue.  I love this suite and I am sure you will be seeing other cards made with this suite.

Materials used:

  • Friends are Like Seashells stamp set
  • Seaside Seashells Dies
  • Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper
  • Crumb Cake cardstock
  • Balmy Blue cardstock

Pretty Perennials Birthday Card

A simple stamping card was made using the Stampin Up Pretty Perennials stamp set.  Sometimes, a simple card without too much embellishments can be very pretty and not intimidating to new stampers.  I decided to keep things very simple and only use the stamp set and ink.  You can make a very beautiful card with very little supplies.

Materials used:

  • Pretty Perennials Stamp set
  • Basic White cardstock
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock
  • Melon Mambo ink
  • Granny Apple Green ink
  • Memento ink

Here is a link to the video tutorial on how this card was made.
